7 Steps To Achieving Your Goals

Achieve Your Goals

If you want to achieve your goals and make your dreams come true, then you need to take the necessary steps.  The rate of change in the world has increased significantly over the last few decades.  This has also changed the way that success is achieved and dreams are attained.

Here are seven steps to achieving your goals and making your dreams come true.

1. Choose Yourself

You do not need to wait for someone to choose you. What ever your dreams and goals are, start working on them today.

Because of the pervasive nature of the internet, you can build a platform for what you do and develop exposure for yourself.  You no longer need to get past the gatekeepers that previously controlled the entrance to so many different communities.

Writers, photographers, singers, software developers and just about any other person that is creative, or solves problems can create a website and showcase their talent.  YouTube is creating sensations at a rate that was unthinkable less than a decade ago.

Artists are curating their own online art shows and gaining notoriety when gallery owners won’t give them the time of day.  Just as they are choosing themselves, so can you.

2. Invest in yourself

Where you spend your time and money is where your heart is. When you decide to treat yourself to a latte or you choose to unwind by becoming near comatose on the couch in front of the television for the evening, you are choosing to not invest in yourself.

Instead, forego the expensive coffee and create an education savings fund.  Use this money to get the training that will take you to the next level in whatever your dream is.

Use your time in the evening to research topics and get the free education that is available on the Internet.  Get a library card and use it.

Find an online course or a class at a community college near you. If you are looking for business related training, see if there is a SCORE office in a city near you. Your time and your money are the two things that you have the most control over.

You can as well invest as early as now, read about the bullionvault review if you are interested to invest your money in precious metals.

Use them wisely and they can help propell you towards your goals.

3. Believe in yourself

Once you have chosen yourself, and have started to invest in yourself you will begin to believe in yourself!

You are no longer the job zombie that is jolted awake by the alarm clock, endures an endless day of mind numbing work and comes home to see how close to a vegitative state you can achieve in front of a brain-sucking television until you fall asleep so you can do it all again tomorrow.

You are now becoming a the real you. You have an amazing amount of untapped potential that comes from waking up from the stupor that today’s workplace is designed to keep you in. You have taken the “red pill” and now begin to see how far the rabbit hole goes.

You begin to see the world around you in a different light. You understand that you are now in control of your future.

4. Be open to opportunities

Now that you are living awake and not on autopilot, you will begin to see opportunities that you would have previously been oblivious to.

You will hear needs that people have that you would have never picked up on before. You will see opportunities to meet those needs through your own skills or those of others that you know. You will see ways to meet the needs of people you meet.

By meeting those needs you will create business opportunities. Opportunities to build your expertise, your reputation as a problem solver, as an artist or whatever it is that you do. 5. Look for the missing pieces

You are now awake. You are investing in your future and you are beginning to see just how far you can take your dreams.

There will still be a few areas that are keeping you from becoming everything that the world needs you to be. Take the time to determine exactly what these areas are. Talk with those that are close to you and you can trust. Ask them to give you feedback on where you can improve. Listen to them.

When you see patterns, these are the areas to focus on. Be ruthless in your self awareness. Be honest with yourself and lose your ego at this point. The only thing holding you back from truly reaching your full potential is ego and self doubt.

6. Find the right teacher

Now that you have identified the areas that need work, find the people that can help you fill in the gaps. No matter what the areas are, you can find someone that will be able to help you fill in the missing pieces.

You don’t necessarily need to find the “guru” in each area, just someone that has had the same challenges and has overcome them already. The right teacher could be a parent, a close friend or even a blogger that is willing to be transparent enough to help others with a problem they have found a solution to.

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.  Just like you have been finding new opportunities now that you are looking for them, you will find teachers, sometimes in the most unexpected places, now that you are looking.

7. Don’t stop moving forward!

Momentum is now your friend. When you were a job zombie stumbling through the day, momentum was the only thing that got you through the day. Now that you are living with intention and moving towards your goals and dreams, you need momentum to carry you past the rough times.

Don’t kid yourself. There will be tough times.  But now you have a stronger vision.  You see that you are on the road to achieving your goals. Your momentum will get you over the hills that you will have to climb.

These hills are the last things that stand between who you are now and the person that you have the potential to become.  The world needs the full and complete You.

Only by continuing to move forward will you reach your goals and make your dreams come true.

Choose yourself today!  Start your education fund, even if it means searching the couch for loose change to start with.  Turn off the television for an hour or two and read something related to your goals.  Take a personal inventory and begin to figure out what pieces are missing.
